Cricket is one of our delightful 23 kittens currently residing at our rescue organization, where we strive to provide a safe haven for these adorable felines until they find their forever homes. Cricket hails from a charming litter of six kittens, and he has been lovingly cared for by one of our dedicated foster volunteers. They have been at our rescue for only a few weeks, having been rescued from the streets of Scarborough, where they faced numerous challenges and uncertainties, including the dangers of street life such as traffic, harsh weather conditions, and the constant struggle for food and shelter. Our team worked tirelessly to bring them into a nurturing environment, ensuring that they receive the love and care they deserve as they transition from life on the streets to a warm and welcoming home. This transition is crucial for their development, as it allows them to learn to trust humans and experience the comforts of indoor living.
Cricket is the most chill out of his siblings and will gladly cuddle with you while you’re doing other work, sitting comfortably on your lap. He is super curious and enjoys exploring new surroundings without any fear. Slightly smaller than his other orange brother, he has earned his name and is a true lawn mower, purring every second. His gentle demeanor makes him a delightful companion, always ready to add a touch of warmth and comfort to your day.
It is essential for Cricket to be adopted alongside another kitten from our rescue or, alternatively, into a home that already has another cat under the age of five. We place a high priority on ensuring that our kittens are not adopted individually, as this can lead to feelings of loneliness and anxiety. Kittens are social creatures by nature, and when they are adopted in pairs, they benefit immensely from developing vital social skills that will serve them well throughout their lives. They keep each other entertained, which helps reduce the likelihood of unwanted behaviors like biting and scratching, as they have a playmate to engage with. The companionship they provide each other contributes significantly to their overall happiness and well-being. Furthermore, if you already have an older cat at home, bringing in two kittens can help maintain a harmonious environment, as they can bond and interact in a way that eases the transition for everyone involved. This social interaction is crucial in helping them learn appropriate behaviors and creating a balanced dynamic within the household. By fostering these relationships, we ensure that Cricket and his future companion will thrive in their new environment, filled with love and play.
Currently, Cricket is too young for any vaccinations and spay surgery, which are critical components of responsible pet ownership. The adoption fee covers all necessary expenses, including vaccinations, the neuter/spay procedure, routine vet wellness checks, and a microchip for identification purposes. This comprehensive package is designed to ensure that when you adopt Cricket, you are not only gaining a loving companion but also contributing to the overall mission of our rescue to provide safe and healthy homes for these wonderful animals. By adopting from us, you are making a positive impact not just in Cricket's life, but in the lives of many other animals who are in need of care and love. We are committed to supporting our adopters even after the adoption process, providing resources and guidance to ensure a smooth transition for both the kittens and their new families. Our goal is to create lasting relationships between pets and their owners, ensuring that every adoption is a success story filled with joy and companionship.
